When the character Cliff/Granite was first designed, my GM (Mike) asked for certain background information. This gives him vital information by which he may provide "interesting scenarios" for my character. :)
Describe the following topics, as they pertain to your character, in as much detail as you'd care to provide.
Hero Name: Granite
Real Name: Cliff Stoner
Secret ID: Has neither a Public nor Secret ID.
Employment
Cliff works for Georgia Power as a Linesman. When the power
goes out, he's one of the people who climbs poles,
restrings wires, etc. to get the power restored. Because of
his known status as a Southern Knight, Georgia Power has
given him considerable leeway when it comes to needing time
off for Southern Knights business. In return for this
leeway, Cliff has used his Millennial powers to assist
Georgia power in the cleanup/repair of downed power poles,
lines, transformers, etc. following major weather events
thoughout the metropolitan Atlanta area.
Finances/Cash Flow
Cliff makes enough money to live comfortably as a
middle-class citizen. The destruction of two vehicles in
two years while on Southern Knights business, however, has
put him in the high-risk automobile insurance category.
This higher cost is more than offset, however, by his
taking residence at the Southern Knights headquarters where
he lives virtually rent free.
Recreation/Hobbies/Pursuits
Cliff likes to rock climb, bike and hike. He's recently
biked the Silver Comet Trail, a 38 mile stretch of pavement
from Smyrna to Rockmart designed to move bikers, skaters,
and hikers out of a heavy suburban climate into the
countryside. When in the city he occasionally takes in a
Braves game. For night life, he's been known to frequent a
local country & western night club/bar.
Always willing to help those in need, Cliff has volunteered his time to several charities, most notably the Habitat for Humanity program in the Atlanta area. He has become quite a handyman because of his work in this program.
Cliff is in the process of studying to increase his knowledge in electronics, microelectronics, and computer hardware.
Family and Friends
Cliff's family lives in Bradshaw, West Virginia. Bradshaw
is about 80 miles south of Charleston near the Virginia
border. Carl Stoner is his father; age 58. Mary Stoner is
his mother; Age 54. Both own/operate a general store in
Bradshaw. One brother: Earl (deceased - car accident ). Two sisters:
Colleen - age 31 and Sarah age 21. Has
several other relatives in the Bradshaw area. Cliff was
born on October 18, 1975.
Cliff's closest friend is Mark Arrington whom he's known all his life. Mark lives and works in Charleston, WV. Cliff's closest friends in Atlanta are the other Southern Knights but he also has struck up friendships with Steve Collins, Mike Borchart, and Cecile Brown - co-workers at Georgia Power. Steve and Mike are linesmen, Cecile is a dispatcher.
Cliff has a girlfriend named Mireya Marquinhos and they've been dating for a couple of years.
Home
Cliff lives in the Southern Knight's headquarters. His room
is decorated with many outdoor pictures: deep woods,
waterfalls, high cliffs, and desert sands. On his night
stand there is a picture of his family. He has a baseball
autographed by Tom Glavine, John Smoltz, and Greg Maddux of
the Atlanta Braves on his dresser. His room is also a
mixture of normal sized furniture and Granite sized
furniture. Three Granite sized chairs exist in the
headquarters: one in his room, one in the conference room,
and a recliner in the TV/Recreation room. To complete the
ensemble, there is also a Granite sized TV remote weighing
50 lbs and has a strength minimum of 15.
Religion
Best described as a non-practicing Christian. I.E. he's not
a churchgoer.
Politics
Moderate. Not affiliated with any particular political
party.
Outlook on Life
Cliff is a firm believer in the Golden Rule: "Treat others
as you want to be treated".
He also a firm believer that deep down, all human beings are good at heart. As such, there is no such thing as an evil person...only a very misguided good person who, once shown the error of his/her ways, will see the light and become a good person again.
