Granite image Name: Granite

Campaign Name: Southern Knights

Campaign Type: Superheroic

Campaign Setting: Stutter rushes into the bank. Using his super speed he quickly disarms a number of thugs. In another part of the bank Hollis flies in with Eshu in tow. The thugs raise their blasters only to find that Hollis has erected a force wall which protects the heroes and bank employees. With his mental powers, Eshu "convinces" a thug he is looking at a very angry twelve foot tall grizzly bear. The thug drops his weapon, wets his pants, and surrenders. Rollins crashes through the front door on his hoverchair, fires his stun only energy blast, and drops the remaining thugs in their tracks. Outside, Granite has picked up the getaway vehicle, shaken the driver out, and fashioned an entangle out of the vehicle's bumper to hold the thug until the police arrive.

This campaign is set in Atlanta and started January 1, 2000. As the midnight line swept across the globe approximately one out of every one million people were suddenly endowed with meta-human abilities. Some transformations were minor (one green eye, one brown) whereas others caused catastrophic results (spontaneous combustion incinerated everything around the transformed person). Most of the major transformations resulted in these individuals having vast powers beyond the norm. A name became widely used to describe these transformed people: Millennials.

Some Millennials, realizing their power's potential, began to ride herd on the rest of humanity. Chaos and destruction were their hallmarks. Law enforcement agencies were nearly powerless to stop them. One of the cities laid siege to their onslaught was Atlanta. A cry for help arose from the city for anyone who could break the siege and restore order and peace. Fed up with the actions of these fellow Millennials, Granite rose to the challenge. As a member of the Southern Knights, he serves and protects the public

Powers: Granite is one of the strongest beings on the planet. Using this strength, he can punch through buildings, pick up vehicles and throw them like toys, rip up a section of the floor and slam it down on opponents, and do massive damage if the situation warrants. Defensively, he's very, very tough. Many a would-be robber or street thug has found that bullets bounce off his rocky hide. Many a supervillain has found that he can absorb massive amounts of damage and keep fighting. He can leap great distances with a single bound. Mindful of the damage he can do and knowing how tough he is, he prefers offering his opponents a chance to surrender and/or to take the first shot.

Notes: Fun campaign! Went from January 2001 until late 2006. Granite was one of my favorite Champions characters.
